A Petrifying Prediction: "The Clash of Civilizations" by Huntington.

The Scary Thesis:

When Humanity in us dies, "The Clash of Civilizations" comes alive.

Recently I read an early 90's thesis by Samuel P. Huntington, on the Post-cold-war-world's primary source of conflict. It sent shivers down my spine as It stated that the trends and causes of wars in a modern post-cold-war world will mainly revolve around Culture and Religion.

This sky-rockets when Right-wing ideologies dominate the major and sensitive population. Even when people come up with the ideology of Universal-acceptance, it'll further antagonize the other civilizations. He stated the breakup of Yugoslavia, Wars between India-Pakistan as examples for his thesis.

These are some possible reasons for the civilizations to clash:

- The civilizations differ in their very basics like Language, Traditions, Culture and etc.

- As worldwide communication has become handy and free, people will know about other cultures and get obsessed with theirs. (similar to the feeling of insecurity with your boy/girlfriend when you see someone else who is at an approachable distance from them)

- Economic modernization and Social changes will almost eradicate all the local/regional identities, but humans can't handle an Identity crisis. They need something/someone to identify themselves with, Hence they'll choose religion. (similar to how fandoms for superstars are formed)

- and a lot like this.

One Convenient Solution:

All along centuries, India was always known for her Unity in Diversity. India herself is a separate World with several million people from several million races, cultures, languages, traditions, and religions and still co-existing like a brotherhood in extremely diverse landscapes from Deserts to Islands.

Figuring out the Secret Sauce that kept Indians Intact and together for several centuries in spite of their difference should help us stop "The Clash of Civilizations" from becoming a reality.

"A Religious person does what he is told, No matter what is right.

A spiritual person does what is Right, No matter what he is told."

Or this world won't understand that we are one family unless there's an Alien Invasion or an A.I's Rise-to-power.

The famous "Stuck in a Lift" philosophy:

The thought of people who died before we were born and the people who are going to be born after we die should make us sick to our stomach to afford to spend our energies on hatred. We all could've been born at any time of any era, but here we are, alive at this time. You, me, and everyone else. Our tiny moment of time together. Why hate each other in it?

The Evergreen Kaniyan Pungundranar:

To Us All Towns are One; All Beings are Kin.

After all, We all are Homo sapiens.
